CM Punk is heading back to AEW and it appears that he won’t be coming alone.

Punk’s long-awaited return to the company will reportedly come live on AEW’s new Saturday television show Collision. It is believed that the show will premiere on June 17th from the United Center in Chicago. That’s not only Punk’s hometown but in the very building where he made his AEW debut back in 2021.

However, it appears that AEW is also planning another surprise for the show. Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that another “major name” is expected to debut or return to action.

There is no word on who the unnamed star will be, although Mercedes Mone and Kota Ibushi have been linked with AEW in recent weeks and months.

“The show, believed to be called AEW Collision, as noted last week, is expected to debut on 6/17 with a show from 8-10 p.m. Eastern, from the United Center in Chicago, which would also be the return of C.M. Punk along with what is expected to be either another major name debut or return.”

CM Punk Meets With Chris Jericho Ahead Of Return

CM Punk hasn’t featured for AEW since his post-All Out antics that included a remarkable media scrum appearance and a backstage brawl. It has been widely reported that not everyone is happy to see Punk coming back to the company.

The former World Champion has had issues with a number of top stars including Chris Jericho. However, it has been reported that the two will be working together when Punk returns in June. This led to a meeting between the pair taking place which is said to have been“relatively uneventful.”
