United States Title Match At Extreme Rules Now A Triple Threat

Damian Priest

Damian Priest will now defend his United States Title in a Triple Threat Match at Extreme Rules.

The bout was originally meant to feature Priest defending against Sheamus after the former champion defeated Drew McIntyre to earn a shot at the title. However, after victory over Sheamus on RAW, Jeff Hardy has now ensured that he’ll also have an opportunity to walk out of Extreme Rules with the gold.

The previous week Hardy was defeated by Priest with the title on the line, but came within inches of victory on more than one occasion.

With Priest keeping a close eye on the action on commentary, Hardy and Sheamus threw everything at each other in search of the win. Sheamus wound up bleeding from his nose once again, but all the injury seemed to do was spur the Irishman on.

Nevertheless, Hardy was not to be denied, hitting a Twist of Fate before looking for the Swanton Bomb. However, Sheamus got his knees up, leaving Hardy in agony. Despite this, Hardy managed to counter Sheamus into a roll-up to grab the win.

After the match Sheamus confronted Damian Priest at ringside blaming the champion for the loss. The pair got into a brawl before officials intervened.

The September 20th episode of RAW also saw new Women’s Tag Team Champions Crowned.

After the unlikely team of Nikki A.S.H and Rhea Ripley came together they made it their mission to become Women’s Tag Team Champions. The pair had steadily built momentum leading into the title bout, defeating the champions in a contenders match along the way.

On RAW their goal became a reality with Nikki A.S.H rolling up Natalya to grab the win.
