Ace Steel Seemingly Blasts AEW Following Release

Ace Steel has broken his silence following his reported AEW release, seemingly blasting the company over recent backstage mishandlings!

On September 2nd, AEW released a statement on social media announcing the termination of Phil ‘CM Punk‘ Brooks. The star competed in his final bout for the promotion at AEW All In: London, getting into a backstage altercation with Jack Perry just moments before his match.

Less than a week after Punk’s departure, reports emerged that Ace Steel, Punk’s close friend who was involved in the infamous Brawl Out incident in 2022, had been released from the company. The exact reason for Steel’s firing was not disclosed.

Now, the former AEW producer has seemingly commented on the promotion for the first time since his reported release via an Instagram Story. Steel posted a photo stating, “Mishandling people, then avoiding communication, is not protecting your peace; it’s avoiding accountability.”

Steel added his own explicit caption to the photo, “Ain’t that the F***in truth!! LoL.” Whilst he didn’t specifically mention or reference AEW in the post, its contents seem to reflect his thoughts on AEW’s “mishandling” of Punk and/or himself prior to their respective departures from the promotion.

This Isn’t Ace Steel’s First Firing From AEW

This is, in fact, the second time Steel has been fired from All Elite Wrestling.

The 50-year-old was released from the promotion back in October 2022 following the backstage altercation involving himself, CM Punk, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks following AEW All Out.

However, he returned in the summer of 2023 but was not allowed backstage as he was considered “an insurance risk.”
